REELS LA2, LA4 and LA7: Scrapbook, 1927-1962, containing mostly newspaper clippings, articles, catalogs and announcements of Mac-Gurrins exhibitions, miscellaneous papers, mostly relating to the Federal Art Project in California, 1937-1938, including government forms, studies for murals, letters about Mac-Gurrin's work, photographs. Also included are the script of the dedication of the Los Angeles Hall of Records murals, May 20, 1939, a paper on the Old Butterfield Stage Trail, experiments on painted petrachrome slabs, experiments on sgraffito technique, memoranda, time sheets, and notes.

The Federal Art Project (FAP) fell under the jurisdiction of Federal Project No. 1 of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The WPA was established in May 1935 specifically as a work relief program for the millions of individuals left unemployed during the Depression.
